Signing in as a player to Politics Revisited is a pretty easy process. You sign in as a member of the House of Representatives with a biography for your character that provides basic information that we need with an expectation for some degree of realism and narrative coherence but otherwise with an encouragement towards creativity and having a little bit of fun with it. Minimum Needed:
- Quote :
- Name
Party
State/District
DOB
Home City
Religion
Gender
Educational History
Occupational History
While some political simulation games understandably like to implement point systems or strict multi-tiered guidelines to ensure realism, we at Politics Revisited know very well that our selling point as a game hosted for cheap and with an eye for experimentation not our professionalism or taking ourselves too seriously, but rather the freedom to play at your own speed and have a little fun. As such, we are pretty open to exploring your imagination in creating exactly the character that you want to play, and thus the prohibitions are pretty much limited to positions that you need to earn the hard way within the game or that would provide an unfair advantage. History NOT Allowed:
- Quote :
- Former President
Former Vice President
Former White House Chief of Staff
Former Cabinet Secretary
Former US Senator
Former Governor
Former Joint Chiefs of Staff Member
Former Federal Agency Head
Former Congressional Leadership
Claims to Authorship of Actual Major Legislation
A Deeply Silly Personal Plea from Ben
While not directly a rule, the biggest personal pet peeve I have is incorrect dating on biographies. As such, please please please, if your character was elected to the House of Representatives in 2006, list their service as having started in 2007 because except for very rare circumstances that it is how it works in Congress (and Governor in the majority of states): you get elected at the end of an even numbered year and you take office at the beginning of the next odd numbered year.
